Lorna could not always find where she wanted to go! On one memorable occasion she was driving from my home in Denham back to her own house in Whitton. She decided to take the Heathrow airport perimeter road (it is a quicker route!) but when I received a phone call, some 2 hours later from her husband asking where she was, I was concerned as it should have only taken about 30 minutes, It transpires that she got a bit lost and ended up in one of the Terminal carparks! She needed to pay to get out but did not have the necessary cash. Apparently it took her ages to find someone to ask for help and they eventually took pity on her!!
On another occasion we were driving up the M6 Toll when you could still pay in coins. She carefully wound her window down to throw the coins in to the receiving bin but missed. Can you imagine the scene - on our hands and knees collecting the coins from around and under the car whilst the queue built up behind us!
Don't ask about shopping in a large supermarket in Macclesfield with two car parks and exits - Clive to the rescue!
Actually Lorna was an extremely safe and competent driver and I always felt safe and happy to accompany her. They call it a "highway to Heaven" - safe driving there my dearest and most precious sister.
All my love for always.
